Make It Your Intention to Not Tolerate B.S.

February 18, 2015 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

There has always been some kind of drama in my family. I don’t know if I should say this, but there is an element of drama in Indian people. I mean this in the best possible way 🙂

Set Clear Intentions on Dealing with B.S.

Set Clear Intentions on Dealing with B.S.

There was drama with my relatives, own family, and then friends in high school and university.

Drama or B.S.? Which One is Better?

There is a thin, thin line between drama and B.S. Drama can be fun and seductive at times. Even I have to admit, I like to hear the latest gossip. I like to hear what’s going on with friends and family.

But B.S. can truly bring you down. Drama can run into B.S. territory.

What Is B.S. Exactly?

It’s when another person’s negativity spills into your life. They say and do things that aren’t positive. They judge and criticize. I’m not taking a holier than thou attitude here. Neither am I saying I am perfect.

What I am saying is that you deserve and must be who you are wholly and fully. When someone judges or criticizes you for being you, then it’s time to gracefully exit out of their life.

The Best Way to Deal With B.S.?

There is only so much space in your life. Whether it’s in your professional, financial, romantic, and social life. There is only so much space and it is up to YOU to decide how you want to fill that space.

So my advice on the best way in dealing with B.S.? Don’t deal with it, darling!

I simply do not hang out with people who bring me down. I don’t need to deal with their B.S. It is their responsibility. I don’t have to spend my precious energy around them nor on situations that are clearly not uplifting.

What is your biggest takeaway from this post? How do you not tolerate B.S. in your life? Please share with me in the comments.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Friday- My Sweet Roomie

February 17, 2015 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

Here is a Chicken Soup for the Soul Friday…Hope it warms your heart ♥

“I had a sweet conversation with my roomie Afroza where we bared our hearts. I’m not an extremely expressive person and don’t like to show my emotions too much, but it felt very liberating when the words flowed out of me.

Honest, Baring Conversations

Honest, Baring Conversations

It was really sweet to have this genuine and honest conversation with each other. Besides living with each other, I felt we had a real connection that night during our conversation. It also struck me how little we have such honest conversations with others and even ourselves perhaps.” – Priyanka

Receiving A Sweet Text from My Friend – Words of Encouragement

February 14, 2015 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

One of my closest friends who I know since college sent me this text recently: “I saw that you posted in FB that you did a radio interview to promote your book. That’s so awesome!! I’m so happy that you had this opportunity and proud of you for taking that leap 🙂 🙂 :)”

Sweet Words of Encouragement

Sweet Words of Encouragement

I Filled With Happiness

My heart just melted. I filled up like a balloon and then burst with happiness. It is definitely one of the most meaningful messages ever sent to me from a friend.

I didn’t expect it and that text single handedly made my day.

Her Words of Encouragement Motivated Me

Her words encouraged me to continue to do my best. Instead of pushing me, I felt gently and lovingly pulled into doing my best. So when I acted or took action, it came from a place of love-driven energy.

Exchange of Beautiful, Feminine Energy

It is said that usually women do not support and encourage each other. However, it is time more women do this. Just like my close friend, I want to also provide the same level of love and kind words of encouragement to my friends and loved ones.

When you support each other, there is an exchange of beautiful, feminine energy which lifts you up and helps you to do your best.

Annie The Teacup Poodle Rescued

February 13, 2015 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

I Used to Be Petrified of Dogs Growing Up.

In my neighborhood, I’ve had countless dogs chase me. But now after having my own puppy Raja, I have a strong love for all animals.  I was never the type who would dote on animals, but it’s amazing how you change over time once you have a connect. And now I understand their endless loyalty and love that humans can’t match. When our puppy Raja first came to our home, he was literally a month or 2 old.

Annie The Teacup Poodle

Annie The Teacup Poodle

He Was the Size of My Hand

The first time I saw him I freaked out and would never hold him for the next couple months even though he would look at me with his enormous innocent eyes. My brother still makes fun of me till this day how afraid I was of a tiny bundle of joy. So when I came across this heartwarming story, I had to share.

A poodle named Annie used to live with a man who hoarded animals. In an unfortunate turn of events, the man and all the animals died in a house fire, except Annie. A local animal organization rescued Annie. A wonderful family decided to foster Annie through this organization until another family adopted her.

Annie Was So Scared…

Annie was so scared that she didn’t eat or drink and would walk with her tail tucked between her legs. But for some reason, she was attached to their 12 year old son whose side she wouldn’t leave even though she barely knew him.

Eventually, a family got matched with her, but later changed their mind. She and the 12 year old son formed an unshakable bond and so the family decided themselves to adopt Annie. Here’s an adorable picture of her 🙂

Here’s the rest of the story you can check out on:

Celebrate Other People’s Successes

February 8, 2015 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

In the world we live in today, it’s become a habit to compare ourselves with others all the time. This practice is dangerous because it comes from a place of fear. It means you’re thinking in lack instead of abundance.

Celebrate Success Instead of Comparing Yourself

Celebrate Success Instead of Comparing Yourself

Everyone has a different journey, so it’s only natural we will all be at varying stages as well.

Don’t Compare Yourself With Others

Instead of comparing yourself with other people’s journeys, feel happy and content about where you are right now.

I’ll give you an example. I’m just starting out my writing career. I can’t compare myself to someone who has ten years under their belt. They have a ten year head start, so obviously I will be at a different place in my journey.

Celebrate Their Successes and Use it to Fuel You

When you see someone achieving success and milestones in their life and career, celebrate that! Feel genuinely happy for them. That energy can be infectious.

Use their successes to motivate you and take it all in the right spirit. You can use them as inspiring examples.

What is your biggest takeaway from this post? Please share with me in the comments.
