Gerard Butler Quote – How Much Pain is Sitting in You?

November 9, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

“That emotion showed me how much pain can sit in this body of yours; pain and sorrow that you don’t know you have until it is unleashed.” – Gerard Butler

Gerard Butler’s parents had divorced when he was very young. He never heard or saw his father for a long time. Until when he was sixteen years old, he met his father again at a restaurant in Scotland. After the meeting, he said how the tears wouldn’t stop and he came to the profound realization about how much pain can be inside us and we may not even realize it until something triggers it.

Releasing Your Pain and Fears

I have been very fortunate in many areas of my life. But even I sometimes have realized how much hurt has been inside me until some situation or moment triggered the pain in me. I had a moment like this recently and I couldn’t stop crying.

I have seen this in people close to me as well. One particular experience comes to mind. I remember dating a guy and never knowing he had a twin brother. Until his birthday came and I wanted to celebrate the day in a fun and grand way with him.

I Noticed He Became Sad and Lost

He kept avoiding celebrating his day. I thought maybe it was something to do with work or another normal matter. We went to the restaurant and ordered our drinks, he then told me with a shaky voice about his twin brother being no more due to an electrical incident in India decade ago.

I comforted him the best I could and then I instantly understood why he spoke very little of his family and seemed to be emotionally distant. He was holding so much within. For reasons best known to us, we don’t date anymore, but I did tell him to deal with the pain buried deep inside his heart. We all have some pain or fear deep inside us and it’s important to confront it so we can be happy and have peace of mind. This allows you to feel real intimacy with yourself and with someone else.

Have you felt this way? What are your thoughts on this experience? Please share with me in the comments.

Pushing Your Dream like a Massive, Heavy Structure One Step at a Time

October 9, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

“In the past, there were many times when I felt alone pushing that huge, massive, heavy structure. I was carrying it over my shoulder, pushing it myself because I built this career myself. When I started I didn’t have a make-up artist, a hairdresser, an assistant, a marketing plan. I started without having anything, just laying one brick after the other, under the sun, by myself. From now on, to continue, I need help to pave the rest of the path.” – Shakira

Shakira: Needing Support

Shakira: Needing Support

I saved this quote in my email inbox many years ago. I can’t even remember where I spotted this quote, but it resonated deeply with me, so I saved it.

When I Started My Journey…

Not that I am anywhere near Shakira in terms of success or scale, but I did feel this way several times. When I started writing my novel, Enchanted Silence, I felt alone. I felt like I was pushing this massive structure in my life. I had no idea where it would go or what shape it would take, but I kept pushing it.

Had No Idea Even When I was Contacting Literary Agents…

Even when I decided to contact literary agents earlier this year, I did my research and polished my query letter, but still I didn’t know what would happen. It was like living my life in a limbo for six months of this year. I kept going, taking one step at a time, carrying the burden of not knowing.

Signed With a Literary Agent

The experience turned out beautiful. I signed with a literary agent for my novel. But quite some time, my novel was a vision in my head. To keep pushing for your dream or vision is a gamble and not easy when you don’t know what’s going to happen. At this point, I know that for me to succeed and move forward in my journey, I need the support of my agent and many others to continue.

Have you felt this way in your experience? Please share with me in the comments.

What George Clooney’s Marriage taught us about Love

October 1, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

The biggest news in the world today could be George Clooney’s marriage! Who would’ve thought the self-proclaimed bachelor would finally get married?

George Clooney got Married!

George Clooney got Married!

Everyone is gushing about the news and especially who is the incredible lady who captured his heart. However, I wanted to focus more on what lessons we can take from his marriage.

Don’t Settle

One of the most beautiful lessons I want to emphasize is not settling. Don’t settle on something or someone if you don’t feel it’s right for you. It’s better to be patient and know you deserve to have whatever you wish. You want to make sure you are happy.

Embrace and Value Your Love

When you do happen to find that person you love dearly, do yourself a favor. Deal with your fears and emotional baggage, so it doesn’t get in the way of your relationship. Also, appreciate your partner through little gestures. Value what you have in your life because not everyone finds the love of their life.

Sometimes, people find the love of their life and still let that person walk away. Be grateful for that person in your life.

Marriage can Happen Anytime!

Marriage is a relationship grounded in trust and love. You can find your life partner at any age and time. Most people feel the need to get married as early as possible or even late in life. Whenever is the right time for you, get married at that time.

When My Sister Went to Shah Rukh Khan’s Concert – Owning Your Desire

September 29, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

My sister attended Shah Rukh Khan’s concert last night and had a blast! Who is Shah Rukh Khan? Well, he is a superstar actor in India who is adored worldwide.

Indian Actor: Shah Rukh Khan

Indian Actor: Shah Rukh Khan

My sister being a huge fan of his had wanted to go to his concert instantly. Her heart said yes right away. This was about a month ago. But then her head got in the way. She started coming up with reasons not to go.

Reasons like: It’s going to get late at night, I have work the next day. My friends aren’t sure, I don’t want to by myself. The tickets are expensive, I’m not working right now.

Say YES to your Desires!

My mother and I told her to stop for a moment. We asked her a simple question: Do you want to go to the concert?

My sister started rambling reasons again, when we gently told her to just answer with yes or no. She replied yes. We told her to just buy the ticket and stop thinking about the rest. Everything else would fall into place.

My Sister Relaxed and Minutes Later, She Bought her Ticket

As soon as she received the confirmation through her email, a huge smile adorned her my sister’s face. She was glowing. I looked at my mother who was smiling, too.

Yesterday, she attended the concert with her group of friends who eventually got around and attended. By then, she had also gotten a great job at Yahoo!

The Universe Takes Care of the Rest

When you listen to your heart and honor your desire, the divine power or Universe takes care of the rest. If you make a decision drenched in love, then the outcome will mirror that.

Do you say yes to your desires? How does it feel when you do? Please share with me in the comments.

Kevin Hart’s Bible Story: Show Up Fully for Your Desires

September 24, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

What is my current state of mind? I feel really happy and beautiful. I am brimming with positive energy. My external world is changing right before my eyes. But it is happening because I have done the inner work.

Kevin Hart Bible Story

Kevin Hart Bible Story

I am showing up so fully for my desires and journey. This Monday, I heard the greatest news. To have this dream manifest into reality is surreal.

Show Up Fully

I’ll announce this important news to you eventually. I’m working out some official formalities 🙂

For now, I want to share with you the Kevin Hart Bible story. Kevin Hart was starting off as a comedian and achieving some success, but still needed financial support from his mother. He kept asking his mother for the rent money and she kept telling him to read the Bible. Finally, when he received an eviction notice, he listened to his mother’s advice and opened up the Bible. Out fell out many months’ rent checks.

I brought up my news and this story because I wanted to share with you how even when no visible evidence is not present, you must fully show up for your desires.

When you dare to show up fully with honesty, your desires manifest. The Universe gives you exactly what you put in internally.

Have Faith

Don’t question how and when your desires will manifest. Just because there is no visible evidence, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Everything in this Universe has energy – people, animals, plants, stones, thoughts, etc.

When you think of something, it carries a frequency and vibration. Whatever you are thinking, it is exactly what you are creating. Your dominant thought creates your reality. I have changed my dominant thought to that of prosperity, peace, and happiness. What’s yours?

Do you show up fully for your desires? Please share with me in the comments.
