Here is a Chicken Soup for the Soul Friday from my earlier blog:
“I saw the movie Queen twice. In the movie theater. The coming-of-age movie with Kangana Ranaut who was absolutely fabulous in the movie. In a nutshell, the coming-of-age movie is about a Delhi girl who decides to travel to Europe on her honeymoon alone after her fiance walks out of the marriage two days before the wedding.
From beginning to end, the movie made me and everyone else in the theater laugh and cry. Later in the movie, her fiance decides to give their marriage another shot. But in the ending, when she returns to India as a changed person, she gives back the engagement ring to her possessive, controlling fiance, claiming her identity.
The whole audience then erupted in applause at the theater. I was really surprised because the audience was mixed, with families, couples, and youngsters. I was happy that a story about a simple girl coming into her own touched people’s hearts. It made me proud that we were becoming progressive and understanding that a woman has an identify of her own besides being a mother, sister, or wife.” – Priyanka
