Recently, I have been hitting some key milestones. They may seem small to someone else, but for me, they are huge. I am starting to speak on radio shows and online podcasts. I am submitting articles to various websites. It is all very exciting! I don’t know where exactly I am heading, but I am proud of my progress.
But it also made me feel uncomfortable. I wasn’t used to feeling happy. I wasn’t used to things flowing smoothly. So I consciously thought I should respond differently to my happiness and milestones.
I decided to thank myself. I thanked myself for being there for myself and listening to my heart’s desires and dreams. I never dismissed them (well, sometimes. Hey, I’m human!). I gave myself a shot at happiness. I gave myself a chance to feel alive.
Show Gratitude for the People Who Helped You
Your journey is never complete without the people you meet along the way. Likewise, several individuals have played a huge role in where I am today. It was my friends, family, editors, and writing peers. I sent separate notes and emails to thank them all. I wanted to really show gratitude for their kindness towards me.
Cherish The Journey
Enjoy the journey because it is beautiful. We focus too much on the outcome sometimes, not enough on the journey. The outcome is nice to have, but the journey is what makes it worthwhile.
Be Humble and Grounded in Victory
And, stay grounded during success. Feel happy and proud, but always remember to be humble and a good human being.
