One of the things I have been thinking of exploring with for a while was dance. I read and heard how dancing is a great way to connect more to your inner self.
Well, the Truth Is…
I’m not a good dancer! I feel freaking embarrassed about my dancing skills. In my family, the dancing star is my younger sister. There are trophies all over our home that are a testament to this.
I Gave Dancing A Shot
Through the life coaching session I had with Connie Chapman, she suggested I try dancing to loosen myself up. She told me it’s something she highly recommends to her clients to let their energy flow easily and freely.
It is a fantastic way to have an outlet for your emotions and overall self expression.
And So I Danced….And Felt More Connected Than Ever
I played some Hindi songs. One song was romantic and seductive. Another song was upbeat and catchy. I danced by myself in my bedroom, jumping on my bed and twirling in the middle of my bedroom. I made sure to keep my curtains shut! Haha π
At first, I was stiff when I danced. But the more I let go and surrendered myself to the music, I felt as if my soul and heart were singing. It was such a beautiful experience.
I released whatever tensions resided inside my body. I felt lighter and freer. And I felt whole as a woman. I have never felt sexier and more like a Goddess than that day.
Incorporating Dance Into My Self-Care Routine Daily
I have decided to incorporate dance into my self-care routine on a daily basis. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it every single day, but it’s something I will make an effort to do either on mornings or right before going to sleep.
It’s the perfect way to start and end the day.
What are your thoughts on this post? Have you tried dancing to be more connected to your inner self? How did you feel? Please share with me in the comments!
