Do you find yourself thinking about the future too much? Do you feel you’re dreaming too much, but not actually living your life? Or maybe you’re planning too much?
When You Plan Too Much…
You live in the future. You spend every second of the day thinking about what to do to achieve a specific goal in the future. Planning is important, but not over planning. When you go extreme, you end up not making the most of the valuable time you have in front of you.

You Can Stay Thinking Instead of Taking Action
The danger to thinking about the future is you’re trying to be in control too much. You’re trying to perfect every detail. And you may avoid taking any kind of action.
I remember a Marketing Meet Up I attended earlier this year. I went there to learn more about blogging and SEO. I had set up a blog last year and wrote on it frequently. I came across a woman who wanted to start a blog as well and she asked me for advice.
I told her some of the things I learned. She probed deeper. She asked me questions like how do you know if the title of your blog post is search engine friendly. I told her I didn’t. She asked me more questions. She wanted to know how to create the perfect blog.
Two Months Later, I saw Her Again…
I asked her how her blog was coming. She hadn’t started! She was so overcome with making it the perfect blog that she hadn’t even started. I don’t write on that blog anymore, but I had started. It wasn’t a perfect blog, but it taught me a lot and I am applying that knowledge to this website.
