Question: What inspires you?
Answer: People inspire me. Normal people I see going to the grocery store or my co-workers or watching my mother cook dinner for me. Regardless of anyone’s background, age, or economic status, we all crave love and meaning in our lives. And it’s most interesting to see how people translate this need in their lives.
Everyone Craves Love and Meaning…
Some people do it in positive ways, others in not so positive ways, but either way, they each have a story in themselves, and to me, that’s how I come up with characters. Every day, normal people like me and you.
Looking Around You for Inspiration
I remember once I headed to the grocery store after work. As I walked towards the store, I saw a father with his daughter, about five or six years old. He was smiling and laughing with her. She kept looking at him with so much love.
I couldn’t help but notice how connected they seemed. In the world we live in today, always running after something, it was refreshing to see a pure human connection and interaction.
Pure Human Connection is Magical
Everyone seems to be glued to their phones most of the time, including myself. But when I saw the father and daughter laughing and smiling, it hit me how much joy and happiness we don’t take from simple moments. And then my mind started working lightning fast and I could see pieces of a character being created in my head. I wondered about how the girl’s mother is or who she may be as a person. And then somehow a story magically forms!
