Through our self-talk and the way we perceive ourselves, we are creating a relationship with ourselves.
We put substantial energy and time into growing our career and personal relationships, but why not put the same energy into ourselves? When you allow yourself to grow and marvel at your own beauty, you are striving to create quality in your relationship with your self.
Here are some questions to ask yourself to determine the quality of the relationship you share with your self:
Are You Polite to Yourself?
You take the time to speak politely to strangers and your loved ones all the time. Do you speak respectfully to yourself in the same way? Tell yourself you are pretty or smart enough for a change. Be nice to yourself!
Do You Support Yourself?
When you are not having a great day, tell yourself to slow down. Listen to your body and mind and give yourself what it wants. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or exhausted, then it’s time to take a break and nurture yourself.
Whatever it is you are feeling, acknowledge your sentiments and support yourself the way you would support a friend or loved one.
Do You Check In with Yourself?
Most importantly, check in with yourself through the day or even a couple times a week to gauge how you are feeling. Ask yourself questions like: Are you feeling happy? Do you feel satisfied with where you are right now and going?
What is the quality of the relationship you share with yourself? Please share with me in the comments.
