There is a need to announce or put a label on everything these days. People use Facebook as a way to announce relationships or break ups or other important events in their lives.
While it is important and exciting to announce things going on in your life, I see an intrinsic value in being private about certain things in your life.
I am a very social person and have friends and acquaintances from many different walks of life. I end up going to several social events and get-togethers. It’s wonderful to go out and meet my friends and have a fun time with them. Obviously, you discuss what’s going on in your life. I believe you should share important pieces of your life, but you do not need to fully share all the details.
Here’s Why:
Protect Your Emotions
I am an emotional person and though I may not come across that way, I’m uncomfortable displaying everything about my life so openly. Sometimes, I am not sure about what’s going to happen in my own life or how a relationship is going to turn out. So I feel like I should protect my emotions.
If something doesn’t turn out the way you expected, I don’t want to be asked the same question over and over by people, no matter how well-meaning. I’m also allowing myself to have a clear picture of the situation and not being influenced by others.
Allow Things to Manifest Naturally
There is a certain energy attached to a relationships or event in your life. I believe that you should protect and nurture that energy. If something wonderful is in the works in your life, you should keep it private and allow the manifestation process to unfold organically.
This could be anything in your life. It could be a new job you’re interviewing for or perhaps you’re considering marriage with your boyfriend. These are serious decisions that require lots of thought. This way, you do not let any negative energy get in the way and allow whatever it is you want to manifest to happen magically and naturally.
What value do you see in being private about your life and relationships? Please share with me in the comments.
