How to be Less Annoyed with People

November 17, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

There are many complexities in life and profound questions to ponder about, but one of life’s most puzzling questions could be: How do you deal with annoying people?

Dealing with Annoying People

Dealing with Annoying People

Determine What Kind of Annoying Is Bugging You

The action or behavior that is annoying you can take on two different shapes:

  1. The behavior or action in question is actually annoying you.
  2. The person may be doing something normal, but for some reason you can’t quite put your finger on, is annoying the heck out of you.

Deal With It!

Either way though, you need to deal with the situation because being annoyed causes you to become frazzled. There are some quick steps you can take to keep your cool and be composed. Here they are!

Breathe and Let Go

Take a deep breath. And breathe again. Stretch your body. Pay attention to your body language and how wound up your body feels. Loosen your body so it’s not tight. And just let go.

Be Comfortable with Not Reacting

Sometimes, the best way to deal with an annoying person is to not react. You actually take their power away. When they see you’re not affected or reacting, chances are they’ll quietly go away. A reaction to a reaction causes the situation to spiral and the best solution can b to step away.

Be Direct

If it’s something inappropriate and you really feel you should deal with it, then be direct and say something.

Shrug off the Little Things and Look at the Big Picture

Maybe you’re annoyed due to another matter, so that is affecting your behavior in other areas of your life. I’ll give you an example. At work, you may have to deal with an annoying co-worker. Sometimes, it’s best to shrug off this person’s behavior (unless of course it becomes too much, then do something about it!) and focus on the big picture.
