How do You Find Courage When You are Confused?

November 4, 2014 by Priyanka Leave a Comment

I’m sure you asked yourself this question at some point in your life. It doesn’t matter if it was subconscious or conscious. I find myself most confused when I desire for some great change in my life. When I realize I want to transform my life in some way, but I don’t know what to do.

Finding Courage When Confused

Finding Courage When Confused

Accept There is Never a Perfect Time

When you’re contemplating making a big change, remember that there is never a perfect time. Last year, I had actually resigned at my job. I decided I wanted to spend my time writing my novel. I had been writing Enchanted Silence since 2011, but life kept getting in the way. For months before actually resigning, I would go back and forth in my head.

Remember that there is never a perfect time. I did end up resigning only to be offered a leave by my boss. I took it!

You’re Swinging Back and Forth in Your Head

It’s natural to feel hesitation. It’s normal to have a bundle of crazy thoughts in your head. I’ve wrestled with the uncertainty for some time before I actually mustered the courage to resign. The funny thing? I  felt great afterwards. I felt so free. The fear was greater in my mind than in my head.

Take the Leap

How do you find courage inside you when you are so confused? You can journal and write your thoughts daily. Take some time off from your busy schedule and spend time with yourself. You can even go away on a weekend retreat alone. Why am I telling you to spend time alone doing things you enjoy? Because in the quietness and stillness, you’ll hear your heart whisper to you. You’ll find courage to take the leap in whatever it is you want to do.
