Well, there is this concept called…determining your non-negotiables. It works like a lucky charm!
What Do You Absolutely Need Every Day?
When I came to this realization, it changed so many things for me. Determining what your non-negotiables are about creating balance in your life so you can be happier and more at peace.
My non-negotiables are having time on my hands to exercise, sleep eight hours every night, and create delicious smoothies and meals.
On my earlier job, I worked from home. I thought it would be a flexible position, but it turned out to be completely different. I worked more and had no time for myself. I was getting cranky.
I took the decision to take this new part-time position, so I have the time to do all my non-negotiables.
How Can You Create Space and Time For Them?
And you know what? I actually get way more stuff done!
When you know what your non-negotiables are in your self-care tool kit, then you can think about how you can create space and time for them. My way was to take up a part-time position, so I could have time and space. Maybe you can transition to a similar position or talk to your boss about making your schedule more flexible. You can wake up earlier to incorporate your non-negotiables.
Hold Yourself Accountable
The more you pay attention to your self-care, your efficiency and joy will skyrocket. Hold yourself accountable. Make sure you are taking time out each week for yourself.
